Molas

The Costume worn by the Kuna woman consists of a multicolor blouse, that has the generic name of “Mola”, it is made by hand by the Indians, with attractive decorative motifs of biologic character, geometric design, mythological beings and scenes from daily life. They also wear a skirt that is made from about three yards of fabric tied at their waist. Under this one, wrapped around waist, is a smaller skirt that they use as underwear. A colorful scarf decorates the garment and is placed on the head whenever they go out of the house.
